Prescott College Consulting offers personalized educational consulting for families with students in 9th through 12th grade. Prescott is committed to having EVERY student client prepare for, identify, apply to and attend the best college or university for them. Located in Ambler, PA, we have been in the business of helping students maximize college choices for nearly ten years with clients spanning the US, Latin America and Asia.

Prescott initially began under the name of Avery Education Consultants and was located in Abington, PA. Outgrowing its offices, Avery moved to Ambler, PA in fall of 2012. With the location change, the formal name change was also completed to Prescott College Consulting.

Today, Prescott consultants on average have more than twenty years of experience in education and are members in good standing of recognized professional college admissions organizations like NACAC, PACAC, IECA and HECA. When working with our students we focus on the academic, social and financial needs of our client families.

Meet the team leaders who work with families to assist them in navigating the college selection, application and financial aid process.

Mary Harkins is Founder and President of Prescott College Consulting. She is a dedicated and credentialed educational consultant that enjoys helping students find the college that fits them academically, socially and financially. She earned her undergraduate degree from Temple University in Risk Management and her Master’s in Education from Arcadia University. Prior to starting Prescott, Mary worked in the private and public school arena for nearly 20 years. With three children of her own, she understands how confusing and anxiety provoking the application process can be for parents. Mary is a professional member of IECA and abides by their code of ethics and commitment to professional development.

Kim Berring joined Prescott College Consulting in 2010 and has 15 years of experience working in higher education. She has a BA in Communications from Pennsylvania State University and a M. Ed., with an emphasis in Higher Education, from Temple University. Kim’s prior experience includes working on the college side in alumni relations and student activities. Kim has knowledge of both sides of the college experience: the students and what they want outside of the classroom; and, the involvement of students after graduation. During the student consulting process Kim enjoys educating clients on how making a connection during the college/university years will affect their professional network long after graduation.
